13 Hajin bosses: where each is met, how to find it, how to kill it and what it drops.
Commanders (3)
Colossus
Armored juggernaut with a minigun · Threat: Extreme
Where: Chang-san Air Base, including The Armory and the bunker; 14th Political Prison / The Citadel; Cheongun Village; Songdo Wharf; Cheonwang Peak Array gate, South Korean Wilderness
How to find: Roams; banner appears on approach. Also one of the two final bosses of Operation Fallen Ember.
Watch for: Fires the minigun in bursts with pauses and can track several players at once. Ordinary explosives barely touch him: guides agree his suit shrugs off grenades, launchers and rockets. Thermite, Drill Charges and the Shock Stick are the exceptions. A creator's solo kills show about six or seven Thermites alone can kill him, and Shock Sticks stun him. The October 25 patch notes cut "Drill Charge damage against enemy Colossus", so Drill Charges still hurt, just less. He can take stairs but not ladders or pipes. His shock arcs through nearby metal and vehicles, and his canister releases gas on death. Make gunfire your main plan and use the rest as support.
Kill plan:
- Clear the soldiers around him before you engage.
- Spread the squad so he cannot lock onto everyone; flank from at least two angles.
- Stay in hard cover and shoot during the pauses between bursts — aim for the head.
- Skip grenades and launchers. Stun him with a Shock Stick and throw Thermite while you reload; Drill Charges still add damage but hit softer since the October 25 patch.
- Solo: clear his escort, then get up a ladder onto a roof, shack or platform and peek so only his head shows. He cannot follow you up and rarely lands hits. Never drop to his level. This comes from a creator's solo video and is not yet verified by us.
- In The Armory, fire down from the stair landing with a sniper and rifles; you never need to enter the gas.
Bring: High-capacity rifles or LMGs, Sniper rifle, Thermite (about six or seven for a solo kill), Shock Sticks (one or two per Colossus), Drill Charges, Stun grenades, Extra plates
Drops: Military Composites (legendary printer ingredient — Tempered Armor Vest, Secure Scavenger Backpack); Experimental Compounds (any Commander can drop them); $50,000 first-kill Board reward
Deathstalker
Attack helicopter · Threat: Extreme
Where: DBN Headquarters rooftop, The Grid; NuriGO Mall / NuriGO West; Compound Delta; East side near Songdo Wharf
How to find: Roams the eastern city. Often shows up after a story mission or when your squad is already worn down — and it sits on the DBN roof with Lieutenant Roze.
Watch for: Strafing runs over open streets and rooftops.
Kill plan:
- Best option: capture a SAM Site and defend its control computer until the capture completes — it shoots the helicopter down for you.
- Otherwise use launchers, or keep steady automatic fire on the cockpit (one squad reported a kill in about 25 seconds).
- Duck into doorways between passes; never fight it from an open street.
Bring: Launcher, Scoped rifle, Plates for the exfil after
Drops: Prototype RF Module (legendary printer ingredient); Experimental Compounds (any Commander can drop them); $50,000 first-kill Board reward
Commander Tank
Battle tank with cannon turret · Threat: Medium
Where: Streets around NuriGO Mall; Main roads and highways (patrols)
How to find: Patrols roads; banner appears on approach. Fewest confirmed sightings of the three.
Watch for: Cannon turret. Bullets do no damage.
Kill plan:
- Stay out of the turret's line of fire and hit the hull from cover.
- Use launchers, C4, thermite and drill charges.
- Restock rockets from ammo boxes nearby before you commit.
- Loot the front, back and top of the wreck.
Bring: Two launchers in the squad, C4 / thermite / drill charges
Drops: Nano-Structured Alloy (legendary printer ingredient); Experimental Compounds (any Commander can drop them); $50,000 first-kill Board reward
Lieutenants (10)
Roze
Sniper · Threat: Extreme
Where: DBN Headquarters rooftop terraces, The Grid; Top-floor machine room (elevator)
How to find: Boss Board intel (opens after the Underground chapter) or a Hunt Tower.
Watch for: A single shot can down you. Shares the roof with the Deathstalker helicopter.
Kill plan:
- Climb the staircase using the rails as cover — never peek the open roof.
- Deal with or avoid Deathstalker first; fighting both at once is how squads wipe.
Bring: Smokes, Close-range weapon for the rooftop push
Drops: The Kraken (legendary) or Astaroth .57; Roze's Highrise Armory key; Degraded Execution Footage (sellable); Dog tag
Jang-ui
Server-floor commander · Threat: Extreme
Where: Netshin Tech Complex, upper floors, The Grid
How to find: Boss Board intel (open from the start) or a Hunt Tower.
Watch for: Fights among the server rooms with heavy guard support.
Kill plan:
- Take the interior stairwell to the upper floor.
- Clear room by room into the server hall marked 14.
Bring: SMG or shotgun for the server rows, Extra plates
Drops: Paektu (ultra AR) or Hyeon Burst; Dog tag
The Warden (Kang)
Riot shield · Threat: Critical
Where: Deep inside The Citadel; 14th Political Prison blocks and mess hall
How to find: Boss Board intel (open from the start) or a Hunt Tower.
Watch for: Hides behind a riot shield while waves of guards push you.
Kill plan:
- Get close and flank the shield — shoot the exposed side or wait for him to open up.
- Bring more ammo than you think; the guard waves keep coming.
Bring: Extra ammo, Flash or stun grenades
Drops: Incarcerator (ultra SMG) or X-58 NYX; Dog tag
Jin-Tae
Casino boss · Threat: High
Where: Heavenly Luck Casino, Cheongun Village
How to find: Boss Board intel (locked early, opens with later Orders) or a Hunt Tower.
Watch for: Heavy automatic fire across the open casino floor.
Kill plan:
- Stay off the open floor — work through the back offices and take him from the side.
Bring: AR with a long magazine
Drops: ISO Nightshade (legendary SMG blueprint); Dog tag
The Chemist
Hazmat squad · Threat: High
Where: Warehouse by the reactor tanks, Haneul Nuclear Reactor radiation zone
How to find: Boss Board intel (open from the start) or a Hunt Tower.
Watch for: Dark hazmat guards and radiation fog that cuts vision. The Chemist wears the yellow suit.
Kill plan:
- Pack Radiation Blockers and a gas mask — the core wears masks down fast.
- Look for the yellow suit in the fog before you spend ammo on guards.
Bring: Gas mask or hazmat suit, Radiation Blockers
Drops: Revenant (legendary marksman rifle); Comms Module and Control Unit in the cache; Dog tag
Bale
LMG gunner · Threat: Medium
Where: Re-Education Center upper floor, Deadtown; Chang-san Air Base bunker (Extreme)
How to find: Boss Board intel (after the Underground, Counterfeit and Human Intel chapters) or a Hunt Tower.
Watch for: Sprays an LMG down corridors filled with smoke and green gas.
Kill plan:
- Clear the guards on the interior stairs first.
- He goes down near the balcony door at the end of one corridor — push it with a gas mask.
Bring: Gas mask, Smokes
Drops: Dreadnought (legendary LMG) or Type 73; Dog tag
Iskra
Runner · Threat: Medium
Where: Cheonwang Peak Array stairwell, South Korean Wilderness
How to find: Boss Board intel (open from the start), a Hunt Tower, or the Chemical Denial dynamic op.
Watch for: Fires from the upper doorway, then runs down the stairs.
Kill plan:
- Let Iskra break and chase — finish the fight on a stair landing.
Bring: Shotgun or SMG
Drops: Widowmaker (legendary shotgun) or Warlord; Small Secure Backpack; Control Unit in the cache; Dog tag
The Doctor
Close-range heavy · Threat: Low
Where: Mirae General Hospital — wards, parking garage or grounds
How to find: Boss Board intel (open from the start), a Hunt Tower, or during Operation Critical Extraction.
Watch for: Bulky heavy in a white protective suit and gas mask who fights up close.
Kill plan:
- Close the distance and burst him down — he is one of the easiest first Lieutenant kills.
Bring: Shotgun or SMG
Drops: Doctor's Salve (legendary battle rifle) or Patriot XMR blueprint; Command Office key (hospital 7th floor); Dog tag
Gorani
Decoys in the woods · Threat: Low
Where: Mujin Pass woodland camp; Forest south of Cheonwang Peak Array
How to find: Boss Board intel (after the Underground, Counterfeit and Human Intel chapters) or a Hunt Tower.
Watch for: Ghillie-suited guards in the trees, fog, smoke and decoy dummies. Only the real Gorani completes the side op.
Kill plan:
- Push through the camp with an assault rifle and keep firing through the smoke.
- Confirm the target before you celebrate — decoys drop nothing.
Bring: Assault rifle, Thermal optic if you have one
Drops: Incisor (legendary marksman rifle) or MAR-9; Infantry Invasion Plans (sellable); Nitro Compounds; Dog tag
The Scavenger
Wanderer · Threat: Low
Where: Near dead players anywhere; Cheongun Village, South Island, Deadtown, Hajin River Heights
How to find: Spawns at random near dead players and moves around — a Hunt Tower is the reliable way to find him.
Watch for: Fights like a tougher regular soldier.
Kill plan:
- Clear his guards, then advance. Good target for a fresh squad.
Bring: Anything
Drops: ORIS 8.6 marksman rifle; Gas Mask in the cache; Dog tag
Boss Board rewards
The Boss Board at your FOB opens after your second completed DMZ Order (when page three of Orders starts), whatever your DMZ level.
- First Lieutenant takedown: $10,000, once per Lieutenant, paid when you extract with the tag
- First Commander takedown: $50,000, once per Commander
- Lieutenant dog tag extracted: $25,000 and 1,000 XP every time, including repeat kills
- Kill side op: $500 and 500 XP
- Commander kill after the first: 3D Printer ingredients from the wreck or body
Buy the intel. Each Lieutenant card on the Boss Board costs $25,000 and marks the target as a side op for one deployment. Some cards only open after specific DMZ Order chapters. After your first purchase, open cards can be swapped to a different Lieutenant for free.
Climb a Lieutenant Hunt Tower. Free. Climb a tall radio tower with a terminal at the top and start the Download Intel side op. It marks the Lieutenant nearest to you, so you cannot pick the target. Reported towers: Tong-il Village, south Deadtown and South Island. Towers are sometimes guarded.
Walk into a Commander. Commanders cannot be bought or summoned. They roam set areas and a COMMANDER banner with their name appears when you get close. Threat Level matters: long firefights at Critical and Extreme pull in Lieutenants, Commanders, tanks and drone swarms.
Picking up a Lieutenant's dog tag shows your position to every other squad on the Tac-Map. The kill only counts if you extract with the tag — die with it and the takedown is lost. Plan your exfil before you take the fight.
